jan voss (using young voss to demarcate his name from the namesake artist in paris) was acquainted with the icelanders through the scene around dieter roth in düsseldorf, where he lived. voss was invited to show in in-out Center by kristjan gudmundsson. he presented a series of drawings on a large roll of paper. every 50 centimeters or so there was a new drawing of waves with words on them washing onto the seashore, forming a text. later the drawings were made into a book, treibsatz, which is shown here. the original drawings have not been found, but may appear in the near future.
